Wilcon extends charitable efforts through 5th Wilcon Cup

Philippines’ leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, Wilcon Depot, successfully hosted its 5th Wilcon Cup at the Tagaytay Highlands, Tagaytay City last January 31, 2019.

This year’s invitational golf tournament gathered over a hundred of Wilcon partners, valued suppliers, media partners, and select customers. It was also an opportunity to support the company’s charitable efforts to provide financial assistance to its chosen institutions.

All of the proceeds raised from the 5th Wilcon Cup were donated entirely to its two chosen beneficiaries: Wilcon Foundation in fulfilling its mission to secure a bright future to deserving underprivileged youth by providing free education, and Crocodylus Porrosus Philippines, Inc. (CPPI) in its commitment to help conserve the crocodiles in the Philippines.

Wilcon Founder and Chairman Emeritus William Belo and Wilcon EVP-Chief Financial Officer Mark Andrew Belo handed the checks to Wilcon Foundation President Rosemarie Ong and CPPI Program Director Rainier Manalo, who were this year’s beneficiaries.

“With these continuous efforts, Wilcon wants to make a difference. We want to be part of something bigger and fully embrace our corporate responsibility by being attentive to the needs not only of our customers or partners but also of the society we live in. And because of this event, we have the means to do that,” Wilcon Founder and Chairman Emeritus William Belo said during his closing remarks.

Aside from being an avenue to help, Wilcon Cup has focused on bringing together its valued suppliers, industry and media partners, and select customers in promoting partnerships and camaraderie and giving thanks for their continued support and trust to the giant retailer.

The 5th annual golf tournament was hosted by longtime Wilcon partners Johnny Litton and Tessa Prieto-Valdes. The most exciting awarding ceremony was held later that afternoon at the banquet hall of the Tagaytay Highlands. Wilcon also presented special raffle prizes to bring more delight to all its attendees.
