Wilcon Depot Expands Solar Panel Use for Sustainable Retailing

Wilcon Depot, the Philippines’ leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, leads the way to a greener future and integrates into sustainable business operations through investing in solar installation.

Wilcon Depot has installed solar power systems in their stores, supplementing the store’s daily energy usage. Recently, its branch in General Santos City was equipped with a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system. The newly installed 1,200 units of solar panels can help reduce 259,000kg of carbon footprint per year.

Currently, more than 30 Wilcon stores nationwide are using solar panels. Wilcon Depot Libis, Balintawak, Sucat, Valenzuela, Quirino, Commonwealth, Quezon Ave., Antipolo, Baliuag, Cabanatuan, Villasis, Mexico, Tarlac, Laoag, Kawit, Silang, Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Sta. Rosa, San Pablo, Calamba, Batangas City, Bacolod, Mandaue, Talisay, Jaro, Panacan, Cagayan De Oro, and Zamboanga are already powered by solar energy.

The company aims to install solar power at all of its operating stores nationwide in taking significant steps of incorporating sustainable practices and solutions for their business.
