Wilcon Depot, the Philippines’ leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City Government of Baguio to adopt and enhance a key public park as part of Baguio’s Adopt-A-Park program.
In a shared commitment to a greener, more vibrant Baguio, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong and Wilcon Depot Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. William T. Belo, have come together to officially sign the Memorandum of Agreement for the Adopt-A-Park program aiming to enhance and preserve the city’s green spaces and foster a more sustainable environment.
The signing ceremony was held at the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and attended by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong and Wilcon Depot Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. William T. Belo.
The MOA signifies Wilcon Depot’s commitment to preserving and improving the green space located at BGH Rotonda. Through this partnership, Wilcon will serve as the designated development partner for the park, overseeing efforts to maintain its cleanliness, beautify its landscape, and introduce sustainable enhancement in line with Baguio’s eco-friendly standards.
Aligned with its corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship initiatives, Wilcon Depot provides ongoing support for the park by providing planting materials, improving park facilities to maintain a thriving and accessible space for the public. All development plans will undergo approval from Baguio’s City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) to ensure adherence to local standards.
This partnership highlights Wilcon Depot’s dedication to creating positive community impact across the country while supporting Baguio City’s goal of a greener, sustainable urban landscape. The Adopt-A-Park initiative allows both government and private entities to take an active role in transforming Baguio’s public spaces, embodying a shared commitment to sustainability, community enhancement, and environmental preservation.
Wilcon Depot’s participation in the Adopt-A-Park program will be marked by the temporary installation of branded signage within the park, in compliance with city regulations. The city will monitor and supervise all activities and programs in the area, ensuring the park remains accessible and enjoyable for the community.
